To a wonderful human being,
The very fact you are reading this letter fills us with joy and optimism. We cannot even begin to describe the feelings of awe and admiration we have for women who would consider carrying a child for someone else. Your selflessness and kindness is heart-warming and gives us hope for our future as parents.
We want to support you every step of the journey. We imagine building a strong connection with you across the Atlantic, developing a long lasting friendship of trust, openness, respect and honesty.
We love living in the North West of Ireland. We live near family and friends. Ian's parents and sister live in the same neighbourhood. County Donegal is historically quite conservative. We never envisaged living here as a Gay couple. In the past 20 years, Ireland has changed for the better and is now a more culturally diverse and accepting society for everyone. In 2015, Ireland became the first country in the World to vote in Gay Marriage by public vote. We are extremely proud to be Irish.
As we dream of a future with our children, we'd love you to be a part of our lives as much as you would wish. Maybe there’ll be parties, video calls, trips to Canada and Ireland. We hope to provide our children with the opportunities and tools to live their best lives! We'll encourage them to try sports, play musical instruments and explore any other potential hobbies or interest they may have. We'll promote Irish culture and traditions- language and Gaelic sports (our local GAA Team is Saint Eunans, Letterkenny). Most importantly, we will raise them with strong values and morals of respect, honesty and to be good people. They will know where they came from, including how they were created.
Thank you for considering us and helping us to start our much longed for family. You are making our dreams of becoming parents a reality and we will never forget this most cherished gift.
Ian and Richie
