Dear Future Surrogate,

We hope this letter finds you well. As we sit down to write this, it’s hard to put into words how grateful we already feel for the incredible person who may help us fulfill our dream of becoming parents one day. While we don’t know you yet, we want to share a bit about ourselves and our journey so far.

We are Daniel (33) and Andre (31), a married couple living in Schwerin, a picturesque city in northern Germany. Our story began in 2018 when we met and quickly realized we had found something truly special in each other. In June 2020, amidst the challenges of the pandemic, we got married. Going through those uncertain times only strengthened our bond, and we knew without a doubt that we’re an amazing team.

Andre is a high school teacher who teaches English and history, while Daniel works as a personnel and fleet manager in a cleaning company. We both love spending time together and share many hobbies, like traveling, hiking, meeting friends and family, and enjoying game nights—whether it’s trivia, board games, or even silly games like "Heads Up." At the same time, we each have our own passions: Andre is an avid reader (our bookshelves are already double-stacked!) and a huge soccer fan, cheering for Borussia Mönchengladbach with his family. Daniel loves cooking, gaming, and has a deep love for musicals, especially Wicked.

Traveling is something we deeply enjoy, and it has given us so many cherished memories. Together, we’ve explored England, Malta, Turkey, the USA (Georgia and Florida), and Canada. Andre dreams of visiting Argentina one day, while Daniel’s heart is set on Japan.

In 2023, we began discussing our dream of having a child. While we initially considered adoption, we found the process in Germany to be quite complicated. Moreover, we felt a strong desire to have a genetic connection to our child. Through the Wish for a Baby Expo in Berlin, we discovered altruistic surrogacy in Canada, and everything just clicked. The values and framework surrounding this process resonated deeply with us, and we knew it was the right path for us.

We both feel strongly about raising our future child with openness and honesty. It’s important to us that both the egg donor and the Surrogate remain a part of our lives, and most importantly, our child’s life. We want them to grow up knowing how much love and kindness went into bringing them into the world.

As for what we’re looking for in a Surrogate, we don’t have a set checklist. What matters most to us is that special connection—that feeling that it’s the right match for all of us.

When our child arrives, Daniel plans to take parental leave, which is fortunately well-supported here in Germany. Andre will likely reduce his working hours so that we can both dedicate as much time as possible to raising our child. We’re also lucky to have incredibly supportive parents who are ready to help us in every way they can.

We can’t thank you enough for even considering this journey. The decision to become a Surrogate is an extraordinary act of generosity and love, and it’s not lost on us how much it means. We hope this letter gives you a glimpse of who we are and the kind of loving, supportive home we want to create for our child. We can’t wait to get to know you better and hopefully take this incredible journey together.

With all our gratitude and warmest regards,

Daniel & Andre
