Dear Surrogate,
We write you this letter with the hope you will be the person who will help us realize our dream of starting our own family. We are Jérôme and François, both mid-thirties, originally from Quebec City. We’ve been a couple for just over 15 years, almost high-school sweethearts. We've been living in Montreal for ten years with our cat, Paxil. Jerome is a registered nurse and finished his PhD last year to become a university professor. Francois is a psychiatrist and has been practicing for 5 years. We both love board games, hiking and bike trips. With our studies now completed, and our careers now settled, we are ready and available to start our own family.
Starting a family was always a goal we shared. Individually, and as a couple, we humbly believe that we have a lot to offer. Throughout our relationship, we've been surrounded by children, with six nieces and nephews, aged 2 to 16. Our child will be thus surrounded by love, by adventures, and by cousins that'll get them into all sorts of fun mischief. We’ll always try to support them so that they thrive, discovering who they are, and their passions. We will strive to help them become independent, showing them the world, and make them be part of it. Even though we know this adventure to parenthood will not always be an easy one, we are excited to embrace what's to come. To take this step, we have the full support of our respective families.
We officially began the process to parenthood in January 2024 with the embryo creation. It was finalized over the summer, with a known egg donation. We even had the privilege to meet with her during the process. That meeting was important for all of us to better learn about all the significant people that contributed to their story. It was also important for us that she would be open to eventually meet with the child, if they ask for it later on. Currently, we have three euploid embryos (PGT-A tested), ready for transfer. The embryos are at Grace Fertility in Vancouver, but we are open to transfer them into any clinic.
We are aware that asking you to be the person involved in our journey to parenthood is an important request. You will be part of our family, in your own way. We want to take the time to build this relationship on a foundation of mutual trust and transparent communication. We recognize the importance of defining everyone's expectations during and after the pregnancy. We are committed to fully respecting your values, wishes and needs, offering you all the support you require. We hope to develop a close relationship through the pregnancy, and be able to share this adventure with you!
With all our gratitude,
François and Jérôme
