This pregnancy was also met with difficulty when Marjolein went into labour at just 28 weeks pregnant. In 2016, John and Denise were faced with the unexpected news that Denise had cervical cancer. In an effort to preserve her fertility, John and Denise began the IVF procedure and created 3 embryos. In 2018, Denise did her first IVF transfer and became pregnant using one of the 3 embryos they had created. Following the birth of their daughter Hannah, through a routine exam, cancer cells were discovered in Denise’s uterus. The best course of action was to remove her uterus.
